Strength In You Counseling
About Me
"Ask for help. Not because you are weak. But because you want to remain strong."
Les Brown
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of clinical experience serving children and families in a variety of settings: Community Mental Health, Residential, Foster Care/Adoption and School Social Work.
My practice is focused in three main areas:
-
Working with men's issues, especially when addressing trauma backgrounds.
-
Relationships (This includes couples and all forms of romantic/ intimate relationships. I am LGBTQ+ and Poly friendly)
-
Individuals with Chronic Illness
My approach to therapy is straightforward and strength-based with a focus on relationship building. My passion lies in empowering clients to guide our work together to achieve their goals as we explore who they are, work towards who they want to be, address any barriers, and strengthen relationships. Honesty and accountability for all is a theme in my practice and encourages buy-in from the entire family, increasing opportunities for success.
I am Level 1 Trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and have completed the Integrative Sex and Couples Certification. These principals can be combined into individual and couples sessions as needed.
Outside of my practice, I am married, and a father to two wonderful girls.
In addition, I have been an active volunteer with the Barth Syndrome Foundation since 2000, where I gained extensive experience working with individuals with and parents of children with chronic illness. I have been a Board Member since 2017.
